My brother has been working at this interesting company called Knack. When he first mentioned that he was trying to figure out personalities through their means of gaming, I said something like, “Bah!” (Actually, it was more likely a passive, “meh.”) But as time went on, I realized he is onto something.
There really is something very interesting that can be said about a person by watching them play. Play is a highly individualized and unique aspect to a person. A game, meanwhile, is a playground – a place that promotes and encourages play. Another aspect of a game is that it presents an environment that encourages play to develop towards some sort of mastery. What type of mastery is highly specific to that game and that person.
It will be interesting to see where he goes with this …
