How I Write a Synthwave Piece From Start to First Draft – “Ztir”
Much of how I write appears improvisational, but… well everything is improvisational. Really, I focus on the parameters that create structure in song, and follow them for the most part. So long as I remain in practice with that, exercising short term memory as well, I can create a piece fairly quickly. Here I show the process I go through.
Ztir was done written and recorded live as I performed at Nitida Ridge in Second Life – 2019-10-12.
If I decide to publish the piece, I’ll need to go through and clean it up a bit. Maybe I’ll add some other lower register things going on too. Or not…
Beethoven’s Pathetique – The Second Movement from Above
